My Mom used to know a guy who contracted malaria from when he was a soldier in Vietnam. He would go into shaking spells and it would scare the crap out of her. Very sad indeed.

This is plain, outright BS from someone trying to sell you their product.

#1. Contrary to the author's insinuations, there is NO lye in 'lye soap'. Lye is used as the caustic agent to saponify oils and butters, but it is consumed in that process and does not remain in the finished bar.

#2. Milling soap does not 'dissipate' anything, not anymore than sanding down a block of wood will 'dissipate' the chlorophyll that was once in the tree's leaves. You can't remove what's not there.

#3. Again, contrary to the author's insinuations, SLS has nothing to do with lye. SLS is a chemical additive, technically a detergent, and it's usually added by big companies to their 'body bars' and washes (check your labels for other euphemisms), because it produces a nice foam.

Soap makers don't usually use it, because it's a known irritant and soap generally foams just fine on its own.

#4. Notice that the article is asking if you're allergic to glycerine as its author tries to sell you glycerine soap. Pure BS.
